Tool #3: Design

Design thinking can be applied to anything, from developing an industrial methodology to designing a paperclip. My aim is to constantly improve my design thinking by dreaming, building, testing, using and redesigning.

While not the most pleasant experience at first, I found out that frustration is at the heart of innovation. I lost my apartment and almost everything I owned in a house fire at the beginning of 2020.  I had to rebuild my living space from scratch and very quickly. To turn this uncomfortable situation into an opportunity, I decided to make my new apartment much more pleasant to spend time in by carefully selecting every piece and adhering to a consistent design language. In fact, my apartment burning down was not the frustrating bit: it was not being able to find a dining table that suited my space both visually and physically. After spending a month searching online I decided that I did not want to settle for a design that fitted but was not visually appealing to me, so I decided to design my own. This part explains my S(TABLE) project.
